"Following a lengthy meeting with the Council we were given just a few days to revise the drawings and return them to the Case Officer. AWP expertly rose to the challenge and hit the deadline, which enabled the application to go to Planning Committee four weeks in advance of the project programme. . . . A great result."

Cat Grindle

Principal Transport Planner

Although a native Bristolian, I was brought up in South Devon, and now live with my three cats in the wilds of deepest Somerset, close to the Devon border.

I’m fortunate to have beautiful countryside on my doorstep. I like to spend time indulging in numerous interests, some of which include gardening, getting my nose into a good book, cat psychology (yes, it’s a thing), cooking, painting designs on old furniture (badly), gaming, DJing, and helping out with a well-known cat charity.  Did I mention that I like cats?

Since graduating from the University of Bristol I have worked in the Transport Planning business for 25 years, spending many years in the city before relocating to Oxfordshire and, in 2015, deciding to return to my roots to be near family and the wonderful south-west countryside.

As a Transport Planner, I have been involved with a wide range of developments for both private and public sector clients, all over the UK and beyond. I have provided advice and support to clients for all types of development, including residential, retail, employment, hospitals, leisure, education, hotels, energy, and quarrying, amongst others.

I have prepared transport assessments, travel plans, town centre studies, public transport analysis, parking studies, accessibility and feasibility studies, Statements of Evidence and other documents in support of planning applications and other processes, and have provided transport input during the post-planning stages, including legal agreements.

I am particularly interested in how people interact with their environment and how we can integrate transport provisions within development to support the transport choices that people make whilst providing an environment that encourages walking, cycling, leisure and play.  I always jump at the chance to get involved with the design process to help create lovely places to live and work.
