"Rob Ward proved to be an absolute key consultant for this project. His input was vital not only in direct liaison with the Environment Agency, but also in helping us understand in a very clear way the realities and potential mitigation for a project specific approach to flood risk. We would welcome any future project consultancy with AWP and highly recommend their services."
Bon viveur, adopted Devonian, award winning semi-professional photographer (well, I won some Amazon vouchers a few years ago), Exeter Chiefs fan, hypocrite (spent years flying around the world advising on sustainable development), married and proud father of four daughters.
Over the years I have worked on a wide variety of civil engineering projects including new trunk road schemes, city centre redevelopments, airports, dams and reservoirs, energy from waste plants, major commercial and office developments and helped deliver many thousands of new houses through the planning process. I’ve also acted as Expert Witness on flooding and drainage issues.
I have worked overseas on a number of large development projects predominantly in India, South East Asia and the Middle East where I’ve gained extensive experience of providing sustainable infrastructure solutions to support developing masterplans. I have led teams providing flood risk, transport, urban design, waste and sustainable energy strategies for proposed new cities and major urban redevelopment projects.
However, I've found that I get the most satisfaction from seeing well-designed developments come to fruition; places where I'd like to live or work or play. Hopefully we are leaving a legacy of those across the south west.
Although I have overall responsibility for the financial performance of AWP, I try to maintain a hands-on approach and act as Project Director on a number of commissions. One of the parts of the job that I enjoy the most is developing and maintaining our key client relationships with the aim of securing the long term growth of AWP.
