"It's a pleasure working with Sophie, top service as always."
As a semi-professional musician, I spend a lot of time practising and performing. I have a 9 - 5 office job to pay the bills and support the otherwise penniless existence of a musician.
Having graduated from Exeter University with a Music Degree, I pursued a career in Arts Management working for a regional music education charity for 6 years.
I joined AWP in 2014 where I quickly turned my hand from organising musicians to organising engineers. I now head up the company Reception/Admin team and manage the company HR, Training & Development Programmes, staff welfare and day to day company finances.
Outside of work I am a semi-professional flautist performing locally both as a soloist and as a member of flute trio 'Flute Cake' as well as in other freelance orchestras and shows across the region. One such orchestra is Exeter Symphony Orchestra where I am first flute and also librarian (for my sins).
Alongside my flute playing I occasionally perform locally on violin and more recently with a semi-professional choir. Having achieved grade 1 trumpet in 2013 I put that hobby to rest, much to the relief of my neighbours!
In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my husband; you can often find us battling it out on the squash court, walking on Dartmoor or enjoying a good series box-set. I also enjoy swimming and cycling (including commuting to work), running, playing hockey in a local league, weekend camping trips and consistently failing to train my pet rabbit to stop digging up the garden.
