"AWP have a vast depth of experience but the enthusiasm of a young and growing business. For me their biggest attribute, outside of the expected high skill level, is their relationships with the statutory authorities and therefore the ability to get the job done quickly and efficiently."

I am originally from South East Cornwall and I joined AWP in summer 2017 when I moved up north to Devon! I joined the company just after finishing my Civil Engineering degree from Plymouth University. My dissertation and placement year within my course focused on the hydraulics of sewer systems, in particular the use of controlled attenuation to prevent flooding within a catchment.

As part of AWP’s Graduate Rotation Scheme, I started in Chris’ Flood Risk and Planning team. I now currently work in Dan’s team working on detailed infrastructure design, predominantly for the Nansledan and Poundbury Duchy of Cornwall projects. Its great to be involved in such quality projects as these and watch their progress as the grow into fully functioning towns.

I live in Dartmoor National Park, so I find the vast majority of my time outside of work exploring its wonderful landscape with my partner and Sedgeley our Black Labrador. We have set ourselves the challenge of climbing every Tor on the moor, of which there are over 300, in which we are making ‘steady’ progress(!) I also enjoy walking the coast and organise a club of Devon Labrador owners that meet regularly at beaches on both the north and south coasts, quite often descending into organised chaos.
