Verity Saunders

Assistant Technician

I am currently studying for my Level 3 in Civil Engineering and working towards my EngTech within the drainage team here at AWP.

Since I was little, I have always been fascinated with the way things work and I have a genuine enthusiasm for learning and problem solving which is one of the reasons I enjoy studying Civil engineering - there’s always something new to take in.

I’ve been lucky enough to have grown up in Devon on the edge of Dartmoor and spend most of my free time exploring the UK. Whenever I get the chance, I drive down some scenic North Devon B roads and find somewhere to surf or watch the sunset.

I love finding new and interesting hobbies to master (and then forget about) these include playing the Cello, Violin and pretty much any type of Art media. I’m always starting new projects; one of my favourites being converting my car into a camper and being able to park up and catch some incredible sunrises pretty much anywhere.

After taking A levels for a year during Covid, I decided that route wasn’t for me and started my career in engineering, which I’m really enjoying.
