AWP works with STEM in Schools

30/11/18

Last week, our year-in-industry intern Fleur had the opportunity to visit Churston Grammar School as part of “Tomorrow’s Engineers Week”. She spent the morning giving a presentation to a class of 15-18 year olds, discussing ways into the industry and the path her career has taken so far.

Everyone got actively involved in the morning, including designing and building some pipe runs with a variety of materials – trying to create the longest and fastest run possible. The students asked a variety of questions about the industry, degree apprenticeships and university courses, showing great enthusiasm for engineering.

This was a great opportunity for the students, Fleur and AWP to share knowledge and experience, as well as encourage the next generation into a STEM career.
