"The applications this year were of a very high quality, making the judging process difficult. I would like to congratulate you on becoming a South West finalist! The National Apprenticeship Awards recognise the achievements of extraordinary apprentices, the businesses that employ them, and the individuals that champion apprenticeships."

Luke Hallett

Apprentice Technician

I have lived in Dorset until moving to Exeter to begin my apprenticeship in September 2023.

At Thomas Hardye School in Dorchester I studied my GCSEs and A-Levels. The A-Levels I chose have zero correlation with Civil Engineering, them being Pyschology, Law and English Language. The interest of Civil Engineering started with my Dad pestering me about going into construction. I played a lot of football growing up, both with my friends and in a team – although I don’t play anymore I do still enjoy a good kick about. I have two brothers, an older one and a younger one – both of them equally strange. Really looking forward to this new challenge.
