At AWP, giving back to our community and supporting important causes is something we care deeply about. This month, members of our Operations team have each chosen charities close to their hearts, making a real difference.
Sophie chose to donate to Comic Relief, a charity well known for its national campaigns like Red Nose Day and Sport Relief. Comic Relief funds vital projects across the UK and around the world, tackling key social issues such as homelessness, mental health, domestic abuse, education, and child poverty.
Millie chose to donate to ELF (Exeter Leukaemia Fund) (elfcharity.org.uk), a local charity dedicated to supporting patients with blood cancer and related conditions across Devon. From counselling and transport to accommodation and financial advice, ELF ensures that no one has to face the uncertainty of serious illness alone and can receive access to the care and comfort they need during a difficult time.
Lilli contributed to Team Evo vs MND (GoFundMe), a fundraiser in support of Pete Eveleigh – a 32-year-old from Exeter who was diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease (MND) in 2022. MND is a progressive and life-limiting neurological condition that affects the nerves in the brain and spinal cord, leading to muscle weakness and loss of mobility. Team Evo helps raise vital funds for Pete’s care, specialist equipment, and quality of life, while also raising awareness of MND. It’s a powerful reminder of the importance of community support in the face of life-changing diagnoses.
