Peter Matravers
Director
I am a big sports fan and follow cricket, rugby and football in no particular order!
With my playing days behind me I now provide a taxi service to my two lads who have a similar passion and a little bit more talent!
Unfortunately as my cricketing and footballing career never took off I had to get a proper job and so became a Civil Engineer. I graduated from Loughborough University in 1999 and became chartered in 2005. I worked for WSP for 13 years before leaving in 2012 to set up AWP where I am now a Director and lead a large infrastructure team.
I have an in-depth knowledge of the development lifecycle of projects and provide engineering input from due diligence stage right through to detailed design and construction. On larger schemes I have a significant amount of experience in developing transport, drainage, services, lighting and earthworks strategies to shape development masterplans in the most economical way whilst also considering phasing and buildability.
My site boots have also been well used, having spent 18 months on construction sites experiencing how works are procured and built. This included six months on secondment as an assistant site manager on a project building a nuclear treatment facility and a further 12 months supervising the construction of £5m of highway enabling works for a new shopping centre.
