Josh Robinson
Engineer
I graduated fromPlymouth University with an MEng in Civil Engineering in 2013. From there I moved to Birmingham to work for a Consultancy where the majority of my work was in railway civils works and bridge inspection/assessment.
On my returnto Devon after 5 years I joined AECOM where I worked within the Highways & Infrastructure team as well as being involved with site inspection planning works for assessment at Devenport Nuclear Dry Docks.
In 2020 I decided to make a big life and career change - I joined D&C Policeand became a Response Officer. I did this for 4 years and loved every minute of it. However, with the birth of my first child, I decided that as much as I love the Police,it has its challenges forwork/life & family balance. After being made aware of a position here at AWP it was too good an opportunity tomissand soI applied, and was successful – and so, for a second time, I embarked on another big life/career change and excitedly returned to the world of engineering.
Outside of work, I will now be spending time with my baby/family – where I will be slowly moulding and training him to be Manchester United & England’s top goal scorer. Any other free time will be most likely playing or watching football as I manage my local 11aside men’s team. With whatever free time remaining I’ll usually spend that gaming… if I am allowed.
