2024 Annual Value Awards
12/11/24
Last week we held our annual office event to present the winners of the annual value awards with their prizes.
Presented by Alex, Pete and Chris, they were awarded to …
Rhys Lamacraft – Informed – Rhys leads by example to others when it comes to delivering value for money and quality services! He always interrogates relevant design guidance and other parameters to produce informed designs and solutions, considering all aspects. Rhys is methodical in his thinking on every task/solution, embracing industry best practice, and those AWP best practices in all they do. Rhys is forever willing to help others be informed and sharing his knowledge.
Luke Hallett – Value for Money – Luke always tries his best at any task given, works efficiently and always considers the deadlines and client needs. He has also been helping to train up new starters and pass on these skills. This year Luke has undertaken every task to the best of his ability. He asks questions when needed and demonstrates learning from previous experience to upskill himself, deliver quality drawings and provide value for money.
Ben Fenton – Sharing – Ben is passionate about the industry, sharing his knowledge of new and emerging practices/technologies, challenging AWP to make positive change to move forward and contribute to CPD across the whole business. His sharing extends beyond the confines of Ada House, representing the business and the civil engineering and development profession more widely to the next generation with a very-well received revamped STEM activity for schools that he designed and led himself, whilst still balancing the demands of the all-important clients as part of the day job. Whether it be through the STEM programme, or presenting in-house on specialist technical areas such as phosphates, Environmental Management Systems and B-Corp, sharing has been at the forefront through 2024 for Ben.
Jacob De La Croix – Delivering Quality Services - Earlier in the year, Jacob migrated across the office to take the reins on a range of existing projects, and seamlessly filled the big shoes he was asked to wear by serving one of the team’s largest clients on several complex projects. Having only a short period of time to inherit past, current and forthcoming schemes, he got up to speed extremely quickly so that he could maintain the same quality of services our client and co-professionals have come to expect. This has been very much appreciated by team leaders, and key clients that have specifically called out and expressed thanks for the quality service they have been provided. Jacob was also nominated for always being approachable and making time when anyone has questions that need his input.
Dan Hart – Mutually Respectful - Well respected by clients, co-professionals and all in the office. Dan was nominated for being a supportive mentor and providing constructive feedback to help the team push forward with their career development. His contribution to our efforts to promote wellbeing across the team has also been much appreciated, taking time out to provide support to people in times of need despite a packed diary and whilst keeping all of his other plates spinning.
Ceri Middleton – Trust – Ceri has impressed with his commitment and enthusiasm to developing / upskilling other members of staff whilst still managing his own workload. He has also relished having more contact with clients / fellow professionals freeing up time for more senior colleagues, and has been a great representative of AWP at business development and public events. Ceri is also embedded and helping to drive forward so many other good things that are happening across the office, non-project wise, which is great to see! A reliable pair of hands, he can be trusted to have a go at any challenge he faces, whether its technical, project management, or other AWP activities, and he is prepared to step outside of his comfort zone to help his own development, his colleagues and the business overall.
Verity Saunders – Star of the Year – Verity was nominated numerous times for our AWP Star of the Month Award throughout the year for a wide variety of reasons. Turning around constraints and opportunity plans swiftly and efficiently, working to provide good quality input to clients at the right level of detail, the excellent feedback on her mentoring support to our new apprentices, keeping projects moving forward, successfully juggling college work, EPA applications, showing brilliant initiative and leadership with work placement students and presenting and sharing her knowledge on the best practice detailed design projects.
