Richard Leevers

Engineer

Originally from Dorset, I moved to Devon chasing the outdoors. I have since fallen in love with rock climbing and surfing.

After earning my masters degree in Civil and Coastal engineering from Plymouth University, I entered the flood management world to explore my passion for improving the natural and built environment by designing sustainable places to live. My niche is modelling drainage systems outfalling to tidally influenced environments.

Before this, I spent just over a year on construction sites to assist in the New Zealand rebuild after the Christchurch earthquake. After moving back to the UK, I transitioned to an engineering firm and I knew this was the industry I wanted to be in.

I wind down at the end of the day by playing violin, going to the gym, or yelling at the TV. I am happiest on hikes or playing music with others.
