"We have worked with the AWP team on many occasions for both highway and drainage matters. I cannot commend them highly enough for being practical, pragmatic, understanding clients' needs and just getting on with the job. Consultants who have common sense and are a pleasure to work with."

10th Anniversary

08/11/22

Last week we celebrated AWP’s 10th Anniversary with a staff trip to Newquay.

On Friday afternoon we were hosted by the Duchy of Cornwall at their Nansledan office where we had a delicious pasty lunch, followed by an insightful Q&A from Peter James, Project Manager, about the Nansledan development. We then got suited and booted (PPE wise!) and headed out to explore the development itself, both the areas already completed and those coming out of the ground at the moment . Nansledan is one of AWP’s longstanding projects, and one of our first right at the beginning all those 10 years ago, and it felt the perfect place to visit whilst celebrating our anniversary.

Following an afternoon tea, we then made our way to the Bedruthan Hotel & Spa, located on the beautiful Cornish coastline, where we spent the evening. The spa facilities were welcomed by many of us, and after resting and relaxing, we continued our celebrations with a scrumptious evening meal and drinks.

Our six Annual Values Awards were also presented by Ian, Alex and Pete. Congratulations to the winners for consistently demonstrating our values over the past year:

Letisha Blackmore – Trust

James Blyth – Sharing

Jack Taylor – Mutually Respectful

Joe Graham – Value for Money

Fleur Elliott-Davies – Informed

Isaac Woodman – Delivering Quality Services

Long service awards were also introduced this year, to recognise employees for their dedication, commitment and for playing an important part in AWP’s success over the years. A huge thank you and congratulations to:

5 Years’ Service Award - Alex Wozniczko, Chris Yalden, Rodin Mackay, Dan Hart, Simon Baker, Annabel Harris, Toby Ball, Jake Richards, Matt Spurling, Isaac Woodman, Will Pitman, Tom Richards, Jayesh Elson and Mikey Rose.

10 Years’ Service Award – Ian Awcock, Peter Matravers and Graham May.

The Saturday consisted of an Escape Room and outdoor activities such as axe throwing, go karting and zip lining. Thank you to  Dreadlock Escape Rooms & Adrenalin Quarry for having us.

A further big thank you to Crafty Cakes who provided us with an impressive personalised anniversary cake, some of which was donated to the residents at Exeter YMCA.

That’s it for the celebrations, until next year!
