Stop press: We've been shortlisted for the Michelmores Western Morning News Property Awards 2014 in the Professional Firm of the Year category. The winners will be announced at the Awards Dinner on Thursday 8 May 2014. Fingers crossed!
As mentioned in last month's news section, we have recently been interviewing potential recruits and are pleased to announce that Jon Goldsworthy and Alex Partridge are joining us. Welcome on board Jon and Alex.
And also as mentioned last month, we entered a team in the inaugural Exeter Chiefs Corporate Quiz. We enjoyed an excellent evening with a hand-picked team consisting of Steve Russell of Devonshire Homes, Neal Jillings of Jillings Hutton Plumbing and Tony Pollintine of Grainge Architects along with Ian, Rob and Pete of AWP and Greg Bateman of Exeter Chiefs who was a bit of a star. Anyway to cut a long story short, we ended up 4th (or maybe joint 2nd?) out of 28 teams. We’re now back into training for the next Chiefs Corporate Quiz in the autumn.
Following on from a couple of successful projects for Linden Homes at Newton Abbot and Millbay Marina, we've been appointed to assist Linden on a number of new schemes across Devon and Cornwall. We've added a project profile page on our transport work on the Millbay Marina project, which is the image at the top of this page, courtesy of project architects Burke Rickhards.
We're pleased to have recently been appointed to undertake FRAs for a couple of residential schemes in Hampshire. That means that we now have live projects in Cornwall, Devon, Somerset, Dorset, Wiltshire, Hampshire, Sussex and Surrey as well as a few projects in the Home Counties and our 'international' project in South Wales.
And finally for this month, we've entered a team of 8 AWP athletes in the Honiton Hippo, which is described as "A Tough Multi-terrain race with Roughly 7 miles of Mud, Sweat and Tears" on their website. On the promise that there will be team photos here next month, if you'd like to sponsor the guys in their fundraising for Macmillan Cancer Support please follow this link.
