"Having worked with Chris for a number of years on a residential development of 1,900 homes, there have been a number of challenging issues which have arisen, however we have always received a professional and cost effective design solution. The work ethic is very client focused and when we have needed a prompt response, nothing is too much trouble"

Returning a 'lost' road back to use for community benefit

20/07/17

We've recently worked on the Thorverton and Brampford Speke Community Access Project to help open up a rural highway that was subject to a landslip in 2012 following torrential rain and became impassable.

Hulk Lane (the dashed red line above the long-closed Exe Valley Railway in the 1963 photo above) was closed to all traffic as a result of the landslip.

In tandem with Ruddlesden Geotechnicalwe investigated and reviewed the cause of the landslide and advised on land drainage measures that would reduce the risk of further slippages in the future. The remedial work to the highway has been completed and Hulk Lane has now been re-opened as a functional footway / cycleway and provides an important link to and from the village. AWP are pleased to have been involved in this project which has provided local community benefit.
