"We engaged AWP to help resolve some knotty transport and engineering issues. They worked proactively to address Devon County Council’s highways concerns to enable TDC to grant planning permission for the redevelopment of this waterfront site which has lain vacant for far too long."
Torridge District Council has recently granted detailed planing permission to Oceanside Developments for the proposed redevelopment of this quayside brownfield site at East-the-Water Wharves in Bideford. The wharves have been derelict for many years and the regeneration will provide homes, restaurants, shops and public space. The approved mixed-use scheme includes 52 apartments and over 700sqm of A3 sales / retail space which will help transform this part of the town.
Working closely with Grainge Architects we prepared a Transport Statement and a Travel Plan Implementation Strategy to support the planning application. We also prepared an Engineering Report which addressed drainage, contamination issues, quay wall impacts, river impacts, service infrastructure and external works and surface finishes.
