"Comer Group has had a long established reliance upon the AWP team to provide the multi-disciplinary engineering and environmental input that is vital to our development strategy. AWP engage fully with our in-house engineering department and are able to draw upon a depth of engineering experience that we have found to be equal to every project within our portfolio."

AWP were very pleased to have assisted client Comer Homes Group with the submission of a planning application for the regeneration of the North London Business Park to provide 1,200 dwellings, some ancillary retail and employment uses and a new secondary school.

The design team including AWP engaged with London Borough of Barnet and the Greater London Authority in developing a masterplan that responded to the residential surroundings of the site. AWP also assisted with public consultation attending an exhibition of the proposals and explaining the development to members of the public.

A Planning Application was submitted in late 2015 and AWP undertook a Transport Assessment and a Flood Risk Assessment as well as co-ordinating the production of an Environmental Statement with a number of co-consultants. AWP covered 5 disciplines within the EIA as well as providing strategic development advice alongside the planning consultant Daniel Watney and architect Plus Architecture.

The site is seen as being a key site for housing delivery in the capital and it is expected that planning permission will be granted later this year to enable a rapid start to be made on construction works for the school.
