National Apprenticeship Week - JACK'S STORY

09/02/24

Read about Jack’s apprenticeship journey with AWP and Exeter College:

"My journey within Civil Engineering has been rewarding; allowing me to overcome challenges through perseverance and support from mentors, whilst developing valuable life skills.

My first steps began when I joined AWP as an apprentice technician, determined to develop my career and gain qualifications under the mentorship of this well-established civil engineering consultancy.

Joining the Level 3 ONC Civil Engineering Apprenticeship 5 months after the course started, I had to catch up and did so by submitting double assignments each month, securing distinctions in each syllabus unit, the highest grades possible.

After this, I obtained my EngTech qualification from the Institution of Civil Engineers and was awarded “Apprentice of the Year” at the “Apprentice and Employer Awards 2023” at Exeter College, where I studied. A proud moment for myself.

Since completing my Level 3 Apprenticeship, I have enrolled on the Level 4 HNC Apprenticeship in Civil Engineering to assist my progression within the industry.

I have achieved and obtained accolades which I didn’t believe were possible so early in my career, thanks to the apprenticeship scheme. I really look forward to what the future holds within my Engineering career."

We're immensely proud of Jack and all of our apprentices - keep up the fantastic work!
