"We have confidence in any AWP appointment to assist us with technical solutions at the planning stage in our development programme. Their end-to-end service on detailed design is also very efficient and we would not hesitate to recommend their services."

2023 Q1 Charity Donations

30/03/23

As part of the 2023 Q1 charity donations, Team Transport organised an Easter Egg Hunt around the local Ludwell Valley Park to raise money for our chosen charities.

Despite the rain and wind, we had a good turnout, with 24 hardy souls taking on the Easter egg hunt. In small teams, they had to navigate the trail around the park, finding clues along to way to answer the name of the Easter bunny rabbit (Sir Hopsalot!). There was also a bake sale to keep the participants fuelled, including a traditional Simnel Cake, banana bread, Easter egg nest cakes, and some genius ‘Bronuts’ (brownie doughnuts).

On top of theAWP quarterly donation of £1500, the Easter egg hunt raiseda further  £165. Thank you to all who attended the Easter egg hunt, bought cakes, and donated!

The money will be donated to the following local and international charities:

Dartmoor Search and Rescue– Being located close to the office, many AWP colleagues spend time exploring and hiking on Dartmoor. The Dartmoor Search and Rescue provide an invaluable service, assisting those who find themselves in emergency situations on Dartmoor and the surrounding areas. Dartmoor Search and Rescue is made up of four teams based at Okehampton, Ashburton, Tavistock and Plymouth. They are all volunteers and they heavily rely on donations from the public to ensure they have all the needed equipment and training.

British Red Cross – With the recent devastating earthquake in Turkey and Syria, the team decided that the second charity would be British Red Cross. British Red Cross provides humanitarian aid, helping people in crisis both in the UK and across the world. In Turkey and Syria, donations will help to provide essential items such as food, water, shelter, first aid, and providing psychosocial support to those who have been traumatised.

Love Her Wild – Love Her Wild is a non-profit UK-based community group, bringing women together for adventures in unforgettable wild places. The adventures aim to boost well-being, increase confidence, and help protect the environment through improved connections with nature.
