AWP study weekend in Amsterdam

19/11/18

We've all just returned from our study weekend to Amsterdam (which is a bit of a result on its own).

After flying out on Friday afternoon, the training bit started early on Saturday with an excellent guided trip around Amsterdam's newest major development of Ijburg. Our local guide explained the approach local engineers and architects are taking to provide innovative solutions to Amsterdam's housing demands. We were shown the ongoing land reclamation works along with a number of recent developments including some really cool floating houses.

We then split into smaller groups with some hiring a boat to self-navigate their way around the canals and others taking on the A'dam tower and its rooftop swing.

After a second evening of giving the local night-time economy a pre-Brexit boost, we met for a final team meal before flying back to Bristol on Sunday evening. The office was pretty quiet on Monday morning . . .
