New Rockfish restaurant in Sidmouth

05/02/20

We were delighted to hear that East Devon District Council's development management committee unanimously granted planning permission for the latest Rockfish restaurant.

We undertook a Flood Risk Assessment to support the detailed planning application for the conversion of the former Army Cadet Force Drill Hall building in Sidmouth into the latest Rockfish restaurant. We worked closely with Grainge Architects to develop a design that retains many of the building's key features whilst taking practical measures to increase its resilience in this exposed coastal location. The exterior of the building is designed to looked like a working fishing building to fit in with the neighbouring sailing club and lifeboat station.

Rockfish founder, Mitch Tonks, said: "The Drill Hall is a unique site that has been empty for a long time, it has the most unique features that we are looking to retain and enhance as part of our scheme so as we can bring the building back to its former glory."
