"We engaged AWP to help resolve some knotty transport and engineering issues. They worked proactively to address Devon County Council’s highways concerns to enable TDC to grant planning permission for the redevelopment of this waterfront site which has lain vacant for far too long."

Exeter College Apprenticeship Presentation

03/04/23

Rodin an Associate in one of our infrastructure teams was invited to speak to the full time Exeter College students last week by the Apprenticeship Training and Recruitment Team.

Exeter College were keen for full time students to understand more about their future opportunities in employment and in particular Apprenticeships from an employer.

This was a great opportunity for us to talk about what we do at AWP and why Apprentices are an integral part of our business, but also to cover topics such as, preparing for employment, attributes of a good employee, and key interview tips and tricks.

Apprentices make up approximately 15% of the workforce here at AWP and this is growing year on year. Having an opportunity to present to such large group of full time students was not only great to promote the successes of our Apprentices, butalso to promote Apprenticeships in Devon and for the Civil Engineering industry generally. As a business we recruit from the ground up, meaning that many of our staff from Technicians, to Project Managers, to Senior business leaders were once Apprentices themselves.
