Nansledan High Street

The Duchy of Cornwall recently released these images of the proposed new Nansledan High Street which is being designed by ADAM Architecture.
Nansledan is an urban extension of Newquay currently being built on 540 acres of land owned by the Duchy. The development will eventually accommodate 4,000 dwellings, employment uses, church, school, a new high street and food retail as well as other mixed uses.
We've been working on the design of various phases of Nansledan since we set up AWP back in 2012. Over the years we have advised the Duchy on strategic transport and drainage issues and undertaken the detailed infrastructure design for all three regional housebuilders who are delivering this award winning development. As a result, Nansledan is one of the projects that we are proudest of and we look forward to helping the project team deliver this vision over the next few years.
Hugh Petter, from ADAM Architecture, said: “The High Street will form the beating heart of this new community, and will be the first new High Street to be built in the UK for some time. It will demonstrate that it is still possible to create viable commercial areas at the core of new speculative development, so creating properly sustainable new communities.”
