Royal Brunswick Park
Barnet, North London
AWP were very pleased to have assisted client Comer Homes Group with the submission of a Planning Application and the subsequent Planning Appeal, for the regeneration of North London Business Park to provide 1350 dwellings, some ancillary retail and employment uses and a new secondary school.
Planning Approval has now been granted by the Secretary of State recognising the contribution the site will make to housing delivery in Barnet and rejecting local concerns over traffic congestion following supporting evidence presented by Ian Awcock on behalf of Comer. Working with Christopher Katkowski QC and Robert Walton QC the Comer team presented robust evidence and won the Appeal with full costs.
A Planning Application was submitted in late 2015 and AWP undertook a Transport Assessment and a Flood Risk Assessment as well as co-ordinating the production of an Environmental Statement with a number of co-consultants. AWP covered 5 disciplines within the EIA as well as providing strategic development advice alongside the planning consultant Daniel Watney and architect Plus Architecture.
The site is seen as being a key site for housing delivery in the capital, as demonstrated by the Secretary of State’s decision and it is expected that a rapid start can now be made on construction works for the school.
