AWP were appointed by long-standing client Yelverton Properties to undertake the pre-planning engineering work for this 64 bed Premier Inn hotel in Honiton. The redeveloped site also included refurbishment of an existing petrol filling station.

Key to delivery of the site were legal negotiations with the Highways Agency to give them the ability to deliver highway improvements adjacent to the site. Ian and the AWP team worked alongside the client’s lawyers to get to the bottom of historic highways agreements and enable the land owner and the Highways Agency to reach agreement over transfer of land which would also enable the redevelopment of a neighbouring run-down site to come forward.

AWP produced a Transport Assessment and Travel Plan to support the planning application for this scheme which was was granted planning permission by East Devon District Council in May 2014. The hotel opened for trading early in 2016.
