Solar Parks
West Sussex
We were appointed by BNRG renewables to prepare Flood Risk Assessments(FRA) and Construction Traffic Management Plans (CTMP) to support outline planning applications for two proposed Solar Parks in West Sussex.
Working closely with Environmental Planners at The Landmark Practice we also provided engineering input into the access options and boundary details for the two PV sites which will provide a combined total of over 12MW.
As part of the FRAs we prepared surface water strategies that aimed to strike a balance between demonstraing some ‘betterment’ in reducing off-site flood risk while still being cost effective to install and maintain.
As part of the CTMPs we undertook swept path analyses for a variety of potential delivery vehicles so that BNRG could optimise the off-site fabrication and delivery of the solar arrays to access the site via a series of narrow rural lanes.
The Chichester site (7MW) was granted planning permission in December 2015 and we subsequently undertook the detailed infrastructure design to enable work to start on site early in 2016.
