"Rob, Chris, many thanks for undertaking the drainage design in such a short time frame with next to zero notice. Your input and knowledge has been very helpful and your discussions with DCC and the EA certainly enabled us to start construction works promptly to ensure we can meet our customer promises for this summer."

The Ultimate Adventure Centre

Bideford

We were approached by the owners of the Ultimate Adventure Centre in Bideford to undertake a sustainable drainage design to discharge a planning condition.

The proposals included the provision of three new accommodation buildings and a social barn for up to 120 visitors and associated parking and access roads. We developed a SuDS drainage design to attenuate surface water runoff from the impermeable areas in a new pond and turned the design around in a matter of days to enable construction work to start on site.

The site is located near the top of the Kenwith catchment and as such forms part of the Bideford Critical Drainage Area. We liaised with the EA and DCC as Lead Local Flood Authority to agree details which will help reduce the flood risk to this particularly sensitive downstream catchment.

Construction work was undertaken throughout the spring to enable the Ultimate Adventure Centre to welcome new visitors for the 2016 summer.
